Me? No I don't. Heck I just found out earlier today that my sister moved back to Cape Coral from St. Pete. Her friend is someone I went to HS with. I didn't know they knew eachother! She's staying with the friend and says she thinks the house sits high enough. I've been to the friend's house. Listen...it's one of those 1 story Florida sort of ranch style houses. If the storm surge really turns out to come in at 10-15 ft...

They're not going to leave there...they can't now.

They say the roots are supposed to grow together to keep the trees from falling. But on my little hill the rain eroded to the point the roots were exposed.
I am sorry the storm slammed you guys!
We're going to get slammed again. But we'll get through it. I met a Puerto Rican man who said they had no electric for a year in 2017.

It’s easy to say evacuate, but when you live in a state that is a several hundred mile peninsula, it isn’t easy, or always possible. I suppose if you were in a position to leave many days ahead of time it would be easier, not to mention the expense.

You need to carry your own gasoline if you want to make it out.

The evacuation orders don't require people to leave the state. They apply to areas where homes face destruction from storm surge and to mobile and manufactured homes. There is a network of shelters, along with free bus transportation to them.

Yeah. I read that 70% of gas stations in Fort Myers were out of gasoline last night. Crazy.

It's believable, given how hard hit places in that region have been.

Looks like a good portion of the state is being affected. Florida is absolutely full of manufactured housing.

Hurricane Milton would be one for the history books if Florida still allowed history books.
