Makes sense that a prophet would see the usefulness of somebody especially skilled in calming the waters, as well as making friends and influencing people.

Some Church Authorities seem adept at projecting an air of arrogance, and some seem like true peacemakers.

Reading some of the poetry of CS Lewis makes it readily apparent why Mormons are drawn to him. Lewis has the Athenian touch while the Apologists are more like the Spartans.

If the church is truly led by God’s prophet, seer and revelator, the Apostles and General Authorities, then why are there self-appointed mopologists?

In my mind, the fact that the Salt Lake City-based church has a public relations spokesman is a huge red flag. If it was really being led by Jesus Christ, shouldn't THE PROPHET be the public relations spokesman?

I agree with you about the evidence being much stronger now. NHM, chiasmus, limited geography theory, ocean currents for Jaredite barges, loan shifting tapirs, and Aztec machuatels, sleds, genetic bottlenecking and two Cumorah hills theory.

We know so much more now and the evidence just keeps piling up in favor of the Book of Mormon.

I can’t decide if this guy is just an uber chapel Mormon or a hilariously subversive troll.

Axel, those are some very thoughtful and interesting questions you pose. Thank you for taking our faith seriously and respectfully. Some critics feel that apologists have twisted, distorted and reinterpreted the plain meaning of the Book of Mormon beyond recognition in order to make it fit with one of the current models. But, these critics are plainly wrong. I think having a number of different and various models show that LDS are not afraid to embrace science and follow where the evidence leads. For some it leads to the limited geography model, for others it leads to the two cumorah hill theory, and to others a heartland model or even a Malay model or Baha Mexico model.. One thing is clear, these events did happen. Either that or Joseph Smith was the world’s greatest guesser.

He repeats back what DCP says in such a delightfully devious way to highlight how ridiculous the arguments are.

You really just have to hear them out loud without any of the apologetic polish to notice it.

Underneath all that polish, DCP is still left with a bunch of turds.

Side note: it’s a little strange that Dan is now implying that he’s worried about the safety of his extended family members, so much so as to hide their gender… I, for one, think he’s probably a great loving grandfather. I am also happy for him that he enjoys fine dining in his retirement years.

He seems to have a lot of trepidation about some odd topics these days that have nothing to do with substantive discussion of LDS apologetics.
