That you are having to point it out again suggests that either MG doesn't understand the concept; or he rejects the idea that he is negating the biblical notion; or he is acting reflexively. in my opinion, none of these explanations speaks well of him. But we have already seen that my opinion counts for little to nothing with MG.

He intends it to be a passive-aggressive snub that will irritate the person he’s replying to. As you say, he could choose to simply not respond to those posts he finds offensive (I would note he’s also posted it in response to someone who was engaged in a discussion he wasn’t involved in. He just jumped in a blurted out TTOC within a conversation he wasn’t even part of. He’s THAT self-absorbed and THAT rude). He just can’t help himself. His post count tells you he’s addicted to posting.

No. TTOC is a recognition that a conversation with the poster at hand will go downhill from that point on if further engaged in tit for tat. That hopefully DOES result in silence. It would be the other poster that would choose to escalate anything.

I don't want to waste the time of lurkers and others having to wade through useless banter to get to the meat of a discussion. As it is, I can't count the number of times I have made a useful contribution to a discussion and then a certain poster essentially erases what I'm saying by trolling my post with a following post saying, "Now, back to the discussion"...or making some lame comment (my opinion) in congratulating another poster, done in the effort to push my comment aside and up thread.

This poster knows that they do this and it happens time after time. It is such a waste of time.

I don't really care if my posts are ignored by anyone but to see someone, with intent, troll me and either derail or ignore what I've said and essentially cancel me out is disheartening and I would even say uncivil.

I know how to use TTOC. Don't worry about that!

He wants to disrupt, derail, and provoke, and he can't stand it when people calmly point out his trolling techniques and passive-aggression, and then carry on with their discussions.
