Thanks for posting Southerton's work. It's yet another excellent takedown of the silliness that comes from attempting to justify the Book of Mormon as historical.
Yes. There is zero credible objective evidence that supports the Book of Mormon as a work of non fiction. There is a lot of objective evidence that supports the Book of Mormon as a work of fiction.
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

I didn't feel it necessary to quote that section. I don't think I was misleading anyone. The fact remains; he finished out his employment with BYU. That was an act of mercy on BYU's part.
The fact remains (and the thing you asked about) that BYU is doing those things you suggested were just internet make-believe.
I think that to a large part it is conjecture not based on actual fact. As I said, even in regard to the example you're referring to we don't know the full story except to know that this person was allowed to finish his time/contract with BYU.

It's back to the 'mountain out of a molehill' that I refer to quite often.

Chiasmus. Multiple authors. Nahom and Old-World geographical coordinates and connections. Contextual accuracy for the most part. And a lot of the Brant Gardner stuff. All? No. Much? Many think so. You're just one guy on a message board. I would encourage seekers to do their own research and reading. And also, be open to the possibility to the whisperings of the Spirit. Don't push God out of the picture. When that happens all you have left is the gray matter between your ears. ;)

LOL! Elder Oaks and other leaders have taught time and time again, that research is not the answer.

Help me out here since he rarely responds to me. Is this some kind of joke? These are some of the worst apologetics there are.

That is a broadly dismissive reply. You did not engage. What are your specific critiques?

One does not specifically critique a child's drawing. Consider my response a gesture of politeness and a longer response would have belabored the obvious.

That isn't the focus of this thread and I am not going to educate you on each and everyone. They are all ridiculous on the face of it with Nahom near the top but that is because I found this undergraduate (former active believing member who lives in Yemen) pummeling of Nahom hilarious. If you have the stomach for it, here is the link. If not, ignore it.
