Says the mental gymnast. And of course it clearly is not. There's a reason Utah is number one in incidences of affinity fraud.
I am beginning to wonder if you have any sense of what is based in reality and what is not.

That's just utter BS, predictably posted by the mental gymnast who trolls our forum.
Yes, it is BS. I know for a fact that MG is NOT the financial clerk.
It's like DCP who suddenly has a story about chatting with the previous volunteer lawnmower in Missouri. I really think some mopologists lie without thinking about it at all.

To be fair the Church does audit itself, so that’s definitely trustworthy. Even though those auditors have said everything was legit when in fact the Church was running a shell company scheme to nefarious withhold reporting information and declarations, and illicitly avoiding tax payments. The Church auditing department just recites whatever conclusion the First Presidency tells them to recite. They obviously don’t check anything, they’re obviously not independent, and they’re obviously either incompetent or dishonest.
If the auditing department is anything like the auditing procedures/practices at the local level...I think you might be mistaken. I'm financial clerk in our ward and can see how the 'sausage is made' at the local level. Auditing and tracking and approval of ALL expenses and donations is strictly done. The church does look out for the widow's mite. The thing is, in today's world and in a large institutional structure like the church there needs to be some give and take for things to work out at the macro level. As it is, the church is healthy and vibrant in both its finances and more importantly, the spiritual health of its members who have a testimony of Jesus Christ and His gospel.

It is those that have lost that testimony that seem to put money above EVERYTHING else.

MG
That’s all very nice. But irrelevant. The Church has been caught red-handed in a fraudulent and deliberate scheme, that’s been running for a decade or more, using shell companies to avoid compulsory reporting. And in so doing has wilfully mislead the financial governance bodies. Yet the auditors stood up at Conference and stated everything was legit. When it wasn’t. Incompetence, or deceit - Which is it?
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

Honestly? I think you’ve lost your way. Whatever happened in your past to turn you away from the Gospel of Jesus Christ is unfortunate. What was your ONE BIG THING? You really seem to have some sort of vendetta against the leaders of the LDS Church.

Bless your heart, MG. It shows true ignorance for someone to think that a single item is the cause of people leaving the church. It’s frankly insulting to the sheer volume of material/shelf items available to make one leave. It’s a veritable buffet.

I disagree. I’ll ask you the same question I asked IHQ. What was the ONE thing that determined your apostasy? I don’t expect I’ll get the truth, but I’ll ask anyway.

And to avoid the question based on the OP topic, our trolling gymnast switches to ad hominem attacks. So typical. Back to the topic:

At this point it doesn’t matter. Course corrections have been made. The work rolls on. It only matters to those who have an interest in seeing the church crumble or disappear. It won’t.

When it comes to the church, it's usually a combination of both incompetence and deceit.

Jesus, a man who literally went out of his way to feed thousands of people, would probably look at the church's finances and would tell the church leaders, "You know, the whole 'render unto Caesar' thing was about paying your taxes, not about out-earning him and then burying the treasure like a obsessive compulsive squirrel with a serious hoarding problem."

Jesus would likely find the Mormon church so absurd that he'd give a new parable on the spot, perhaps titled "The Hypocrites and the Hedge Funds." It would be a parable about a man who built colossal, opulent temples while many people outside starved.
