Paul Pot would be a great name for a Dead Kennedys tribute band.Quantum1982 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2026 11:03 pmIf there is no lake of fire, then the death on the cross is nullified. What happens to people like Adolf Hitler, Paul Pot, Stalin, Kim Jong Il?
Also, what happens to the devil?

It is interesting these examples get brought presumably amidst the doctrine of Romans 10:10 salvation. First, we already know that Hitler likely is saved. Most Christians today revere him and wish to recreate what he achieved politically. Second, most supremely self-serving individuals who have taken risks to get where they are will be on the lookout for a quick fix. Constantine, long after he saved Christianity, delayed baptism until just before he died in order to make sure the favor was returned. Pot was just in the wrong tradition, where would he even hear about it?Adolf Hitler, Paul Pot, Stalin, Kim Jong
You could say the same of Jong, but everyone in North Korea he oppresses is going to hell also, so why single out Kim Jong? The chances of Kim Jong getting saved are substantially greater than his oppressed followers. Kim Jong Il was mesmerized by Hollywood, and given American culture today has shifted from Hollywood influence to independent social media influence, the loud and brash fascists wearing crosses has been in vogue over the last few years, and it wouldn't be that surprising if Kim Jong Un were to seek a connection to what's cool in the outside world like his father did.

I'm afraid you are not having a conversation with a person who cares for your feelings, thoughts, and aspirations, etc. You are talking to a robot. What this robot likes makes no difference and doesn't matter.I Have Questions wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2026 7:09 amHave you asked the missionaries? Have you approached someone from FAIRLDS? I would like to know why Mormons don't believe in a literal lake of fire?
Thanks.

Perhaps Quantum-boy would like to live on the same golden street as Hitler in the hereafter? They can be buddies and drink strawberry daiquiris to their heart's content while listening to harp players.

Gad, I could be stuffy and insist there is zero evidence of deathbed repentance and faith for Hitler. It is more likely he found some sort of hell. But you offer good evidence to consider. Your post makes a good point.Gadianton wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2026 2:19 pmIt is interesting these examples get brought presumably amidst the doctrine of Romans 10:10 salvation. So being saved from anything less bad than eternal torture is worth nothing? That seems ungrateful.Quantum1982 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2026 11:03 pmIf there is no lake of fire, then the death on the cross is nullified.
Jesus promised a reward just for giving a thirsty person a drink of water. That seems less demanding.

You don't say? Did you learn that by reading the Bible?
Before the Bible (66 books), how did people come to know that?
Right. Sound's pretty cool.
But, does God have a body like me? Does he have a penis too?
