The Jews were a very racist people and their skins were much lighter than darkies in Africa who were not permitted to enter the temple or perform any priesthood functions that belonged only to those of Israelite lineage.

Blacks need not apply. The temple doors were shut against black people. Go back to Africa!

This refers to anybody such as most Israelites or Jews who were not Levites.

I am not going to push you to like the narrow and violent dimensions of the Old Testament I just do not see the issue of dark or black skin figuring in.

I'm simply stating that even if a black man was to beg on bended knee there was no chance he would be granted access into the temple let alone perform service therein. No exceptions! The Jews would have ordered the black man or any other man (white, yellow, green) of an unfit race to beat it and get lost; Especially the black man because he couldn't fake his identity and pretend to be of the lineage of Levi because of his dark/black skin! The Israelites were extremely racist and their temple was even more so.

And, I might add, the whole House of Israel was built upon the foundation of polygamy via Jacob's wives.

Accounting for the beginning of Moses's religion in the wilderness and shortly thereafter in the land of Canaan under Joshua, only Levites (descendants of Levi) could work in the innermost parts of the temple and perform the rites of Aaron. No blacks allowed, period.

The historical saga that continued thereafter was long and tedious in which I don't account for in my statement.
