Peter wrote to Christian cult members at Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia. His message has nothing to do with me, an enlightened man living some 2,000 years in the future.Peter wrote:1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
Peter was speaking to Christian cult members of his time while barking new orders to *them*.Peter wrote:2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
Christ was said to soon come back and judge the world for “the day of Christ is at hand” (2 Thes 2:2). The Christians stood watch but nothing at hand happened. He did not come back for those were “soon shaken in mind” and nor did he return “quickly” as promised in the Book of Revelations.Peter wrote:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
Peter then continues to ramble on about how God made the world and how people fail to believe or accept the prophecy of the Second Coming of Christ and his quick return to earth. He notes how a day of fiery judgement is coming and “that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” He tells of how the day will come and that “The Lord is not slack (slow)” to keep that promise, “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night.”Peter wrote:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
That day did not come and neither did it come in a thousand years after Peter’s false prophecy. The “day” (1,000 years) passed on and then another day (1,000 years) expired. And so here we are today, in 2026 and Christians are stuck waiting on the Lord’s day.
The prophecy failed.
I so testify.
