I respectfully disagree with your characterization of the CofJCofLDS.
No problem - And I appreciate that your disagreement is marinated with respect.
To say that the Gospel of Jesus Christ puts a person in bondage is inaccurate.
I never said that the Gospel of Jesus Christ puts a person in bondage - I said that religions, especially organized religions, put people in bondage (Some more than others)
I know we have theological differences ceeboo. But I’m not going to diss your beliefs and say that they are leading you into harmful paths, etc.
My intention wasn't (an still isn't) to diss the personal beliefs of anyone. My intent was to express my very strong opinion about how organized religions, and people being bound in chains, very often go hand in hand - (Mormonism certainly included)
I would expect that you would encourage folks who choose to follow Jesus Christ as members of the church that bears His name to do the same.
You would be wrong with your expectation. I would encourage folks that find themselves bound, trapped, controlled, pressured, stressed out, forced into impossible situations, manipulated, taken advantage of and exhausted by any organized religion (again, Mormonism certainly included) to seek a path out - and to be set free of the horrific chains that they have been placed in by their "religious leaders" for generations and generations.
Members of the LDS church that have testimonies of Christ, His Gospel, and His Church, are willing to take upon themselves the yoke of belief in and following Christ.
I would guess that there are many Mormons who would fit this description (Awesome, in my opinion) but I wasn't speaking about "members of the LDS church" - I was specifically and purposely speaking about the LDS church (Mormonism)
Handcuffs? Hardly.
Handcuffs? Without question - No doubt about it - Full stop.
