He should have said "no...of course not. I support your idea but you must do it on your own time". But apparently John was like "Yeah...That sounds great. Do it." Then apparently in his lawsuit he wants to pursue her for basically stealing company time and money? That is perhaps the saddest part of John's lawsuit to me. What reasonable person looks at this, even with the shallowest of glances, and thinks..."yeah...John's lawsuit makes a ton of sense."
A judge would look at this and realize quite quickly that John is doing nothing more than seeking revenge on an unhinged worker who also had the stupid idea to lay down a lawsuit on him...

He tries to look like he’s progressive and kind but he is trying too hard. It doesn’t take any effort when you actually are those things. John Larsen has done so much better at being honest and genuine than Dehlin has.

It was definitely repellent, for sure. He’s playing around in this weird ‘progressive’ space and used wokey language to try to win sympathy from his perceived viewership knowing that once something is recorded it can go out to the public at any time. Lame, inauthentic, and a misstep. He only has himself to blame at this point; he needs to hire professionals to do the jobs they’re hired to do. Period. Bringing in strays off the street and giving them access to a business world they’ve never had access to is a recipe for disaster. One time, sure. Mistakes happen. Weird for a guy who worked in the “c-suite” corporate world, but ok. He’s launching a thing. Two times? Hrm. Something’s up. Three and four times? That’s a you problem, bro.
You have to realize that despite how the claims will play out, Dehlin needed to strike back once the tear machine or miss cries a lot (you decide which is the name you prefer) filed her frivolous lawsuit. The board meeting showed that she was someone that warranted termination. Additionally, contacting donors and making defamatory statements to them and making defamatory statements on social media warrants the defamation counterclaim. He also needs to protect his trademark because if you don't protect it by taking action, the law will presume that you acknowledge that there isn't anything to protect.

I have felt unsafe around people exhibiting erratic and aberrant behavior. They do not seem to observe the Marquis of Queensbury's rules and may have a foreign substance hidden in their wrestling tights!!! Plus, I hate being manipulated by weeping.
I think this legal challenge is an action undertaken at the urging of the Open Stories Foundation board, and characterizing it as a personal vendetta is mistaken. Putting out defamatory videos with a similar-sounding name (Moormin Storries?) definitely needs a cease-and-desist order.
