Do you really think that my not believing in Russiagate lead to people breaking into the capitol buildings a couple of days ago? Even if the Russians did as you and the Senate report claims, are we to believe that Russia somehow made people vote for Trump? It is a non-sequitur. There needs to be more and that is why I referred you to the Zakaria article where he makes the dubious claim that Russia hacked our minds. At least that provides, irrationally though it is, a connection to the Russian influence.

If the Russians were so effective in making Trump supporters, what happened this go around? Where were the Russians in this election? Don't you see how this is just an appeal to satan made me do it? I got to say that it is convenient and a tried and true method to propagandize the public. Don't go outside the campfire or the Russians will get you. Don't listen to Trump as he is Satan's or Russia's child. Also, governments, other political parties, entities are all trying to influence the electorate, but it doesn't mean it is effective. How often do we see Israel pushing state legislatures to enact anti-BDS laws? The israel lobby is the biggest but no one seems to care about that.

I can see why the russiagate inventors would like to create this "new" devil because it appeals to the religious right and their leader's love of creating devils out of abortion and the like. Also, it hearkens back to the cold war. Even so, I think they are avoiding the real issues which are almost always economic. The donor class wants to continue the march to oligopoly/monopoly using the Walmart model of killing off small business and sending manufacturing over to slave wage countries. I think Trump is a symptom of this avoidance and this is why russiagate continues.

Probably like anything else, there are those who are susceptible to being influenced by this or that. If I have a slick advertising campaign, I will influence a certain segment of the population to buy what I am selling. However, I have to offer something that makes sense to them. There has to be some substance. Now, I don't know much about QAnon other than it seems to be along the lines of that nutty supposed Mormon prophetess that was supposedly predicting the end times. A certain segment of the population will fall for such schemes. Jim Jones had a following. So did Heaven's Gate, etc. But, you and your cohorts here are seemingly forever trying to smear anyone who supported Trump with the QAnon stuff. I don't think that is so, however. All I can do is tell you about the lawyers I know who love their guns and liked Trump a lot more than Clinton and Biden. They are more of the all democrats are socialists and so would probably support any conservative candidate. A lot of my former Mormon friends like Trump for the same reasons. There are a lot of people who see their share of the pie dwindling and so are looking for some sort of savior. Perhaps Trump acted like that for some and they liked that he rubbed the supposed socialists and insiders the wrong way. There was a lot of Trump as outsider I think for a lot of republicans. I know the lawyers I pal around with loved how early on Trump picked a fight with CNN calling it fake news.

Hey guys I need help understanding something about Impeachment. So the Democrats apparently are saying they could vote to Impeach by next Wednesday. I know that (at least I think I know this) Impeachment also takes a vote in the Senate.

Here's my question. If the clock runs out on the Senate vote, does the House vote count for preventing Trump from running again in 2024?

Also while I am at it, let's say the clock runs out, would the move to Impeach still go to the Senate after Jan 20th or does the action stop at that point?
