I suppose you're upset because I had the audacity to critique a hack comedian's choice of words. However, keep in mind that you were the one who initiated the discussion about the actual words Kimmel used, not me. Now that I'm demonstrating your error, you're bypassing the discussion and heading directly to a grim forecast type of argument.
Let's spit facts, I'm not the one attempting to inject political smears into a monologue about a traged, Kimmel did that. Your reasoning is misguided and appears to be entirely biased. To assert that Kimmel's statement wasn't related to the shooter is akin to claiming that a firefighter's hose isn't about water, but merely a flexible tube, it's absurd! If you choose to support Kimmel due to your shared progressive views, that's your prerogative, but be prepared for criticism regarding his use of the term "desperate" to characterize a political group during a time of tragedy.
Please shar your thoughts with me, Captain Progressive! Among the three major broadcast networks that require an FCC license, NBC, CBS, and ABC, which one does not feature a late-night talk show host who leans significantly to the left?
I think i am beginning to gain a clearer understanding of your true identity, Captain Progressive. Your identity hinges on the belief that progressivism is the sole true religion on earth, much like your identity as a Mormon depended on the conviction that Mormonism was the only true religion on earth. You've chosen your group, and now you're standing up for its representatives. You will stand by Kimmel unwaveringly, much like a devoted Mormon stands by Joseph Smith.
I understand your frustration with Kimmel, as you witness your vision of a progressive utopia begin to falter, leading to concerns that your ideological beliefs may not withstand the challenges ahead. I’m not sure of your age, but if you’re old enough to have children, it’s likely that you’ve raised them to embrace progressive ideals within the framework you’ve instilled in them. Is there someone in your close family who doesn't identify as a progressive? I bet not!

Re: Trump's War on the First Amendment
It's amusing that when engaging with the progressives on this discussion board, such as Marxist General DrCamnPP and Captain Progressive, also known as Res Ipsa, if one simply waits for the facts to emerge, the progressives and their misguided opinions are incorrect 99% of the time.Res Ipsa wrote: ↑Fri Sep 19, 2025 9:57 pmHound is just another example of the insanity. Look at the effort he had to go to to try and twist a single sentence by a comedian in a stand up monologue into the worst thing ever uttered on the face of the planet. And he still couldn't twist that sentence into a lie. That's utter bad faith. And in this dangerous situation, it's throwing gasoline on the fire.
Recent now indicate that the actual reason for Kimmel's removal from the air was he refused to apologize the next night during his monologue even though his employers asked him to. In fact he was going to double down the next night during his monologue, actually considering attacking Trump. Disney executives Bob Iger and Dana Walden were concerned that airing the follow-up would intensify the backlash and provoke regulatory retaliation from the Trump administration.
As is common among many progressives, Kimmel chose to stand firm on his unkind comments despite his superiors advising him to issue an apology. His actions exemplify the reasons behind the reluctance to hire progressives nowadays. Many companies today view them as a liability, and even a major corporation like Disney decided to end its association with Kimmel for now.
Guess what Captain Progressive, also known as Res Ipsa, Kimmel was taken off the air for not complying with his bosses request to apologize. Your bullxxxt assessment of the entire situation was completely incorrect, and it remains so! You are just like Marxist General DrCamnPP, who forecasted the onset of WW3 or claimed that the assassin was a Groyper. You and he are emerging as the two most misinformed progressives on the board.
It appears to me, we only have to wait a few days to discover that everything you're trying to persuade us of is entirely and absolutely false! You're too emotional to try and fool everyone you're smart!

Re: Trump's War on the First Amendment
Here are the facts. Kimmel would be able to go on the show the next night, but he was pulled off the air because he wouldn't apologize to half of America during his planned speech.
In case you are still caught up in the cult of progressivism, please read this slowly so you can understand. Kimmel was taken off the air because he wouldn't say sorry. His bosses decided not to him allow him to go on air because he is an axxhole who wouldn't listen to the people that sign his check! Very simple to understand, even for a progressive that has a boss!

The truth is that Sinclair said their part and Disney did its part.Kishkumen wrote: ↑Sat Sep 20, 2025 10:37 amThis is the crazy thing about Kimmel’s indefinite suspension. After two very respectful comments on the tragic murder of Charlie Kirk, Kimmel correctly described the mad scramble, sans evidence, of MAGA pundits and pols to characterize Tyler Robinson as a radical leftist. Note that Kimmel’s “offensive” comments were not about Charlie Kirk at all. Kimmel was instead laying bare the use of Kirk’s sad murder to provoke further division in our country. That was Kimmel’s sin, not behaving disrespectfully regarding Kirk’s horrible murder, but describing the use of this tragedy to further a political agenda—aggravating polarization between MAGA and the rest of the country.Res Ipsa wrote: ↑Fri Sep 19, 2025 9:01 pmThe word "desperately" in the sentence is an expression of Kimmel's opinion. You may disagree with his opinion. But the expression of an opinion is not a "lie" simply because you don't agree with it.
In my opinion, "desperate" is a reasonable description of the immediate waving of the bloody shirt by MAGA politicians and influencers before they knew anything about Tyler. Your disagreement with my opinion does not make either of us liars. Whether statements by other folks could be fairly described as "desperate" -- or even more desperate -- is irrelevant to what Jimmy actually said.
Jimmy's opinion is not a lie.
Try again.
The truth of Kimmel’s dismissal is that Trump wanted it, and Kirk’s awful murder provided Brendan Carr the chance to lick Trump’s boot by making it happen. How did he do it? He dangled the Nexstar merger as something that could take place—against anti-monopoly regs—if Nexstar helped get Kimmel off the air.
The lets not be Bud Light or Cracker Barrel part may have been a gift from Trump but this boot licking stuff is just like your kink man. Keep that to yourself, Professor.
As for sins? That’s a strawman. There is no sin court here. Kimmel had low ratings and he told some stupid ass lie about a maga gang, as if there was a gang, and he made some crap up and it wasn’t true or funny. So what? Terry Bradshaw said “Redskins” on the air and the Democrat Floyd Antifa Trans Furry Gang spent the weekend trying to prove that Bradshaw did not want tampons in the Washington Commanders’ locker room. That’s no lie.
What the hell is the difference? It ain’t Trump or Carr, sister. It’s ratings and contracts. But go on, Team Amazing Shot needs to champion a real victim, Kimmel.

They did play the part of unprincipled cowards, yes. Sinclair was already MAGA, so they just MAGAed as expected.
It’s not his gift to give. If people want to boycott a business, fine. It is not his role to put his thumb on the scale. The lets not be Bud Light or Cracker Barrel part may have been a gift from Trump

Nah. That ship sailed a long ass time ago. See Twitter, the NYPost etc.
Kimmel has been swinging at Trump for 10 years. Monday he told a jokey lie or liey joke about a gang of Americans. Disney whacked him like a Toobin zoom on CNN.
Nothing to see.
